Dear Anna,

Thank you for your letter which I got yesterday. I am happy to hear about you. The news about your interview is very interesting. You didn’t say if you got the job. I hope so. I was sorry to hear that you have been burgled again. When did it happen to you? Five hundred pounds is a lot of money. Do the police know who did it?

You wanted me to tell you about my life in Edinburgh. Well, I enjoy living here a lot. The course is good, I thought it would be easy but I was wrong, it’s so difficult.

First, I hadn’t friends but soon I met the people who are in the same department as me. Currently I'm spending all my time trying to find the books which I need for this course. Although it’s difficult to find them, I’m sure I’ll find them. When I buy them, I’ll be so busy!

I finish now. One of my friends has to write a letter in French and I offered him my help. Write me on phone soon. If you go to Scotland, you have to visit me and don’t forget to take warm clothes! It’s so cold here!

SOMETIMES IT IS BETTER NOT TO TELL THE TRUTH!

Nowadays it is difficult in some cases to express our emotions or our thoughts with freedom since we don’t want to hurt the feelings of other people. If someone asks to me; “Throughout your life, have you ever told a lie?” Absolutely the answer is YES.  But, is it dishonest to lie? From my point of view, I can’t imagine a person who is completely truthful. There exist a lot of situations where we feel forced to lie, we want or not, so I think that lying isn’t a bad thing at all.

First of all, since we were little, our parent have taught us that telling a lie isn’t good and we always have to tell the truth, but all of us have lied one in life. Furthermore, in some cases we lie for the good of others. Some people will be disappointed or upset if the words from other people aren’t the wanted words that these people expected. One example can be when your best friend asks your opinion about her or his new look, so in this case, if you hate it, you shouldn’t tell the truth because it would be so rude. That is called a white lie, so I think that lying isn’t very gloomy when it is necessary.

In conclusion, lying doesn’t always hurt someone’s feelings; we sometimes lie to protect someone from harm, for this reason I think that isn’t bad at all, all of us have been a liar once in life.

COMMENT OF VIDEO: RITA PIERSON-EVERY KID NEEDS A CHAMPION

This video talks about education. The woman who speaks, start the talk explaining that all the teachers and schools pretend to improve doing education reforms. Some of these reforms have been good and some of them not at all. But the important thing is, when they think about these changes, almost the majority of them forget one important and value thing; the relationships. All the video show us what is the importance of the relation between a student and a teacher and what can influence this relation to these students. The woman explains that a job of the educators isn’t consisting to go to the class, do the lesson and the kids should learn, it’s not that. The job of the teacher is, a part of teaching, help to these students to have more confidence, to grow up and become somebody in the future. Because they are teachers, they are champions, and every kid needs a champion.

I really admire Rita Pierson.

THE DAY I WAS BORN

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL BANYOLES CELEBRAES ITS 10th BIRTHDAY

Official language school Banyoles inaugurated in September 2005, celebrated its  Birthday last Thursday at 6:00 pm.

To celebrate it people were invited to  a talkin the auditorium l’ “Ateneu”, where important people like Annie Gili, Albert Bayot, the mayor of the town Miquel Noguer and Sebastià Serrano a linguist and communication expert , started the event talking about the language school and languages.

Annie Gili as a representative of the school told the audience how the school works and what method was used to success. In addition to this, she explained the opinion of the students about this experience saying: “They enjoy this little project a lot and we expect to do the same next year”.

The director of the Educational department in Girona, Albert Bayot gave emphasis on new projects and the introduction of other languages in the near future.

Sebastià Serrano gave a speech “Communication in the third millennium” focused on the importance and greatness of communication.

In the end, to close the talk Miquel Noguer congratulated the school and encouraged the educators for the effort they had all these years.

According to Annie Gili: “We ran the risk but now the school is filled up”, now the school is the most important language schools in Banyoles.
